The most amazing Leek knife by Kershaw ever! From the minute you pull out your Rainbow Leek knife from your pocket; people will start to stare; and being chosen for the overall best knife of the year award from Blade Magazine, the first year it came out, coupled by the fact that this Rainbow Leek is nothing short of spectacular, who can blame them?
A special process known as PVD (Physical Vapor Disposition) is where the Rainbow Leek gets its amazing multi-colored finish. In this process, the metals along with the blade and handle of the rainbow leek are ionized with a high-current, low-voltage arc. These are then placed into a vacuum chamber to be coated by using a negative voltage that is introduced along with a micro-thin layer of metal that permanently coats the blade and handle. Different coatings are created by ionizing different metals. Titanium oxide is the metal used in this case. During part of this process oxygen is introduced. This combination is responsible for the brilliant rainbow colors you see on the Rainbow Leek. As with all Leeks, the blade on the Rainbow Leek is a practical 3 inches, which makes this the knife good-sized, but not too big.
This razor-sharp blade has a slim design which makes it easy to carry and of high performance. The Sandvik 14C28N is versatile and is able to take care of a full range of cutting tasks. This is a SpeedSafe ambidextrous assisted opening system which creates an easy one-handed open. Just pull back on the blade protrusion or push outward on the thumb stud (left or right handed) and the Rainbow Leek’s blade is ready. Constructed of pure stainless steel this knife offers a super-secure frame lock along with a Tip-Lock slider, this locks the blade closed when folded as an added safety measure.
