Dog repellent spray is a pepper based solution that is used to effectively ward of canine attacks. Your best defense as always is to avoid potentially dangerous situations if you can by always being aware of your environment and any dogs that may be in the vicinity. When this is not possible you will need a self-defense weapon like a canine repellent that can aid you in your protection…
What is Dog Repellent Spray?
Dog repellent spray is an organic pepper-based compound by MUZZLE which causes extreme irritation when applied to the nose, eyes, or mouth of a dog. The dog will begin to feel the effects within a few seconds of contact which will cause them to cower and retreat. In an attempt to remove the spray from the facial area, it is normal for most dogs to roll on the ground and rub their eyes. This presents you with the opportunity to escape from harm’s way. Although extremely irritating and painful to the dog, these effects usually wear off within minutes, leaving the dog unharmed and you in a safer place.
Being aware of your surroundings to avoid dangerous situations may not always be enough to thwart an attack. This is where preparation comes into play. A dog repellent can be that added advantage to your personal defense plan when dealing with an aggressive dog. MUZZLE dog repellent spray is the only dog repellent spray we carry because we trust its effectiveness. Anytime you sense that you are in a potentially dangerous situation, you should already be carrying your MUZZLE unit in your hand. If the situation escalates or your fears become worse, you can slip your thumb under the safety cover and be ready to spray the canine by pressing down on the red button with your thumb.
The first thing you will notice about the MUZZLE dog spray is the unique shape of the unit. This shape allows you to feel how it should be held. This shape combined with the safety cover will prevent access to the red button if the unit is being held backwards. These features are designed to let you know, even in dark or stressful environments which way your MUZZLE spray is pointed, so that you can properly orient the device for use.
How To Use Dog Pepper Spray To Stop A Dog Attack
In the event that using your dog pepper spray is needed to stop an attacking dog; there are a few things you need to know to make your device more effective. You will want to point the device at the nose, mouth, and eyes of the aggressive dog while spraying short bursts. Keep in mind the goal is to provide yourself the opportunity to move away from the area and out of harm’s way. The canine pepper spray by MUZZLE is designed to be actuated in short ½ second bursts while aimed at the dog’s mouth. The distance of approximately 10-12 feet (depending on the pressure in the unit and wind conditions), when actuated, will be a stream of the pepper based formulation. You will want to avoid using spraying directly into the wind. Also remember to use the unit in the upright position, it may not function properly then or afterwards otherwise.
